SOLD. Fiat Football Red automatic chronograph by Terra Cielo Mare. The Fiat Red and Yellow chronographs are dedicated to football, in particular the roots of the Italian game. In the early twentieth century, riding the wave of the roaring success experienced in London on the shores of the Thames, football began to draw an increasing number of fans in Italy, too. And it was to this game of football that the workers at Fiat decided to dedicate their energies, and in 1919 under the aegis of the USOF (Sporting Union of Fiat Workers), created their very own team. Among the most exciting matches played in that period was against the Gruppo Sportivo Ansaldo Genoa, played on the 16th November 1919, the result being 3 - 2 to Fiat. The antagonism between the two teams was readily dissolved with a pacification game in Genoa on 23rd June 1920, which was also won by the Fiat team by 4 - 0. The Fiat Foot-Ball 1920 Terra Cielo Mare chronograph was created to mark the most important match in the formation of Italian football. The watch has a 47mm tonneau shaped 316L stainless steel case, which houses a TCM modified 25 Soprod 2045 automatic movement, which has blued screws and "Cotes de Geneve" finshing. The exhibition back of the Fiat Football chronograph has a lazer engraved Fiat logo of the 20's, the date of the famous match is also engraved on the stainless steel area of the back. The watch is a chronograph conceived and dedicated to football in which the chronographic minute counter set at 45 minutes instead of the usual 60 instantly stands out. Here the unusual feature of this watch is revealed; in fact it is driven by an unusual automatic movement from which certain cogs that make the chronograph work on a scale of 45 minutes have been substituted. This feature is reinforced by the red "45"that has deliberately been exaggerated on the chronographic minute face. The watch face reveals one further detail that links it to football: in fact the minute track markings are complete up to the forty-fifth minute; then the minutes for any extra time are given in a black and the 50 and 55 are replaced with 5 and 10. The watch is limited to 300 examples, 150 with red highights and 150 with yellow, is water resistant to 50 metres and comes fitted with a brown leather strap with stainless steel buckle. The watch also comes with a commemorative brown leather pouch, bag and postcard. This TCM chronograph is brand new and unworn, but does have a couple of miniscule, insignificant marks to the case.
